RED ALERT: Government Says No Food Stamps in November

Tuesday, October 15, 2013

Over the weekend when the EBT system went down, Wal-Mart shoppers in Louisiana picked stores clean. If you thought those panicked food stamp recipients acted crazy, you better brace yourself because it's about to get a whole lot worse.

Last weekend's EBT outage lasted for less than 24 hours. It was barely a glitch. But in November, it might be a completely different story. According to a letter recently obtained from the Crossroads Urban Center food pantry, the USDA has directed state agencies to "delay their November issuance files and delay transmission to state EBT vendors until further notice."

To put it simply, if Congress doesn't increase the debt ceiling this week, in November millions of Americans will have NO MONEY transferred to their EBT cards. So ultimately, 50 million people will have to figure out another method to put food on the table. And those of us that do not rely on EBT benefits will be in bad shape too... if people start wiping out stores in a panic, what are we supposed to do to get food for our families?

What do you think Americans are going to do when their benefits are frozen?

If you are counting on your local Supermarket to provide you with the supplies you need, we would urge you to make a contingency plan. STOCK UP NOW. If people wiped out their stores when EBT systems went down for a few hours, what will it look like when EBT benefits disappear for an undisclosed period of time? It's going to be chaos.

Don't be caught in the middle of a fight for a bag of beans. Grab some supplies NOW and be prepared if things go south in November. Hope for the best, but plan for the worst. That's the only way to insure that you will really be ready if it all falls apart.
